Karen Altman (Soprano)

Born: USA

The American soprano, Karen Altman, began her operatic experience with the Juilliard Opera Theater as a scholarship student, and while still a student worked with Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and the Kenley players in Warren, Ohio. Her operatic debut was with the Turnau Opera Company and in 1967-1968 she appeared with the Festival Opera Theater as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. She was with the Metropolitan Opera Studio for two seasons (1966-1968). In 1969 she performed at the Baldwin-Wallace College Bach Festival.
