Originele Duitse tekst [Original German Text]

Nederlandse vertaling [Dutch Translation]

1. Choral

1. Koraal [S, A, T, B]

Ich bin ja, Herr, in deiner Macht,
du hast mich an dies Licht gebracht,
du unterhältst mir auch das Leben,
du kennest meiner Monden Zahl,
weißt, wenn ich diesem Jammertal
auch wieder gute Nacht muss geben.
Wo, wie und wann ich sterben soll,
das weißt du, Vater, mehr als wohl.

Ik ben immers, Heer, in uw macht,
u hebt mij in deze wereld gezet,
u zorgt ook voor mijn leven,
u kent het aantal van mijn maanden,
u weet wanneer ik dit jammerdal
ook weer vaarwel moet zeggen.
Waar, hoe en wanneer ik zal sterven,
dat weet u, Vader, heel goed.
