Carolina Grammelstorff (Soprano)

Born: Santiago, Chile

The Chilan soprano, Carolina Grammelstorff, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Interpretation, and Senior Performer degree in Singing from Unversidad de Chile, Facultad de Artes (1997-2007). She continued her studies in the Singing Chair Alfredo Kraus at Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía (2008-2012): Singing with Manuel Cid and Tom Krause; German Phonetics with Susana WB.

As a soprano soloist, Carolina Grammelstorff has performed in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at Teatro Municipal De Santiago (2004); Felix Mendelssohn's Sommernachtstraum with the Orquesta Nacional de España at Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid, Spain (2011); the role of Papagena in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, Chile (February 2012); Gabriel Fauré's Fauré's Requiem, with GAM and Orquesta Clásica at Universidad de Santiago de Chile - USACH (2014); Donizetti's opera Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali, at Teatro Municipal de Las Condes (2016); the role of 15-year-old girl in Alban Berg's opera Lulu at Municipal de Santiago (August 2018); Jan Dismas Zelenka's Miserere en Dom with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile and Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile, conducted by Alejandra Urrutia at Teatro Universidad de Chile (June 2022).

As an ensemble singer, Carolina Grammelstorff has been First Soprano in Coro Madrigalista Universidad de Santiago (January 2001-June 2019); Soprano Primera in Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile (since June 2019; Director: Juan Pablo Villarroel); Soprano Soloist in AmericAntigua, early music ensemble in Santiago, Chile (since 2019). She also forms the Duo Cantar lontano with the guitarist with Pablo Baigorroteg (since 2018).

In the eduation field, Carolina Grammelstorff has been Singing Teacher at Academia de Canto Verónica Villarroel in Las Condes, Chile (April 2013-December 2015); Singing Teacher at Fundación Mustakis in Santiago, Chile (April-December 2016); Singing Teacher at AMUS Entrenamiento Musico-Visual-Auditivo (July 2021-March 2022); Singing Teacher at Academia De Extension Musical Universidad de Chile Facultad de Artes (January 2016-January 2020). She has also beebn Director of Coro Uniendo Voces (2011); Vocal Instructor of Bafochi (since January 2016); and Voice Instructor of Coro Sinfónico Universidad de Chile (since June 2019).
